Coming from Lisbon?

Leaving Lisbon, whether on the 25 de Abril or the Vasco da Gama bridge, head in the direction of the Algarve (A2/southern motorway).

Note: Tolls are only payable on the 25 de Abril and Vasco da Gama bridges when travelling south to north.

Alternative Route – without tolls:
On leaving the airport, head north for the EN1 in the direction of Sacavém. Exit the IP1 at Alverca/Alhandra/Bucelas. Take the EN10 and later the EN5 to Alcácer do Sal.

Coming from the north?
If you are travelling down from the north of the country, follow the A1 (northern motorway) to Santarém, then turn off, following the signs for the A13/Algarve. Cross the Salgueiro Maia Bridge linking Santarém to Almeirim, then join the A13 heading in the direction of the Algarve.
